Synopsis
In recent years, there has been growing consumer interest around the world on vegetarianism and plant-based diets. Some reasons for this include rising awareness of animal welfare coupled with concerns over the environment as well as general well-being and health through eating a more plant-based diet.

While there are many benefits to adopting a more plant-based diet, one of its limitations is that the protein found in plants is often “incomplete”.

Protein is a macronutrient that the body needs to build and repair muscle tissue. Animal protein is ‘complete’ in the sense that it contains all the essential amino acids that the body needs.

It is this limitation that brought the team at Parkway Cancer Centre to collaborate with Temasek Polytechnic's School of Food, Nutrition and Culinary Science in developing recipes that deliver a more complete protein profile.

Come join us at Temasek Polytechnic for the taste test and launch of these new recipes.
