CanHOPE is a non-profit cancer counselling and support service provided by Parkway Cancer Centre, Singapore.
We are here to support, empower and inspire cancer journeys with hope.
We believe that tending to our patients’ psychosocial health is just as important as treating them physically. Cancer afflicts the body and alters lives, in different ways for different people. This is where CanHOPE, a non-profit cancer counselling and support service by Parkway Cancer Centre, makes a difference.
To provide holistic, quality and personalised cancer care and support, and to advocate early detection and awareness of cancer through educational opportunities.
To support, empower and inspire cancer journeys with hope.
C are & Compassion
CanHOPE consists of an experienced, knowledgeable and caring support team. The CanHOPE team journeys with patients to provide support and personalised care, working with medical and allied health professionals, to help patients and caregivers make effective and informed decisions in the treatment.
Every patient that comes through our doors is met, greeted and guided by our guest relations team. Like an aide, they are a gentle and assuring presence that many of our patients have come to befriend and rely on. Professionally, they attend to our patients during treatment transitions and help ensure that their cancer care is well coordinated in Singapore and regionally through our network of CanHOPE offices. In caring for our overseas patients, our guest relations team also serve as a translator and cultural bridge. Hailing from Vietnam, Indonesia and Singapore, they are effectively bilingual, with some conversant in as many as three languages.
Our trained counsellors offer a listening ear and give absolute privacy so that our patients share their concerns freely to help them better cope with their condition.
Our dietitians educate our patients and caregivers on nutrition principles, food selection, preparation methods, as well as recommend dietary plans and diet modifications.
Our palliative care nurses offer a strong support system to care for the psychosocial and spiritual needs of our patients and their families. To safeguard the quality of life of our patients, our palliative care team works with the medical team to achieve optimal pain relief and control.
