Synopsis
Palliative care is defined by the World Health Organization as "an approach that improves the quality of life of patients (adults and children) and their families who are facing problems associated with life-threatening illness (advanced cancer, heart disease, etc.)". Despite being increasingly prevalent in local healthcare settings, many myths and misconceptions about palliative care continue to exist. In this talk, our Palliative Care Nurse aims to provide patients and their families with the right information and opportunity to better understand palliative care, and to address any concerns or misunderstandings that they may have.
