Synopsis

It is common to experience significant decline in aerobic capacity, strength and mobility after cancer treatment. Exercise has proven to be an effective intervention to mitigate relapse, resume daily activities/ work, and optimise overall health, but… Where do I start? How do I progress? What red flags should I look out for?

In this talk, we aim to address common concerns surrounding exercise and share guiding principles/ pointers for safe exercise participation. Knowing how to manage various signs, symptoms and health concerns is an excellent first step in resuming the activities you enjoy.

We will also have a short hands-on segment where you will be guided through bodyweight exercises that you can start doing at home (participation is optional). By the end of this workshop, you should be equipped with basic exercise fundamentals to suit your unique goals, conditions and preference.

Note:

1) Wear comfortable attire & footwear that allow mobility & movement. Please advise us of any physical limitations, injuries or contraindications that may put you at risk if you wish to participate in this gentle exercise.

2) Video recording of the session will be available for 72 hours; please send request to register@canhope.org
