The first rigorous study of an increasingly common form of skin cancer in young people finds that indoor tanning significantly increases the risk, particularly amongst females.
Many Singaporeans mistakenly believe they are unable to get skin cancer and so often ignore skin care advice. However, the Singapore Cancer Registry recorded that between 2002 and 2006, 1706 people were diagnosed with skin cancer, including melanoma and it was the seventh and eighth most common cancer in men and women.
People with Parkinson's disease are twice as likely to get a diagnosis of melanoma, the most dangerous type of skin cancer, a new review of the evidence concludes.
